Governors Project
Fueling Futures
The Governor's Project "Fueling Futures" aims to provide our community with the food and fuel it needs to thrive. It encourages individuals to expand their knowledge of the importance of nutrition and hydration, feed their local community, clean their environment, and pursue their passions through community service! Our District, Texas and Oklahoma, ranks in the Top 5 for Food Insecurity rates in the nation. Through "Fueling Futures," we are calling on all leaders across Texas and Oklahoma to take action. This project recognizes that nourishment fuels more than the body. It fuels passion, learning, and the ability to serve others.
District Project
Sevice for Generations
Service for Generations is the 25-26
District Project! It's goal is to provide service and bring awareness to not only the younger generation, but the older as well. It aims to break
generational gaps with engaging, and meaningful projects that can bring us all together, no matter the age. For years we have had projects that solely focus on one demographic, causing a annual divide. With this project, we aim to cater to both sides of the service table. Promoting youth development, and empowering the youth to lead in the future. As well as making sure no past leader is left behind, having their needs heard.

Growing 4 Good
We're so excited to introduce our new project
— Growing 4 Good!
Our mission is to inspire the next generation to spend more time outdoors, connect with nature, and build
stronger communities.
Together with Kirk Elementary, we're revitalizing their school garden to create a space where kids can plant, learn, and grow - all while helping the environment.
Monthly Participation
Here you can find information on how our club particpated in each project during each month!
September
Our club participated in the Governor's Project this month by volunteering for two days at our school's Band produce sale and a distribution event. At our Band produce sale, we helped distribute fresh produce to customers. Other than that, we collected the produce from The Houston Farmers Market, assisting in supplying the local produce sale. This checks off one of the Governor's Project bingo spots! At the distribution event, members helped deliver food to clients, break down boxes, and clean up after the distribution.
In addition to volunteering at those events, our club completed 4 of the Governor's Project Bingo cards this month. I mentioned how we collected fresh produce from The Houston Farmers Market to supply our yearly band produce sale. We also completed "Make a social media post on nutrition and hydration awareness." We made an Instagram story, discussing apples and their nutritional value. We also completed "Donate 5 canned goods to a local food pantry" by holding a donation drive, where we donated canned goods to Cypress Assistance Ministries. Lastly, we also completed "Give a presentation on how hydration affects learning and performance." We made an Instagram post, discussing the effects.
Our club participated in the District project this month by volunteering at Childcare Gracewood and Cy-Hopes Making Life Better for Kids events. At the Child Gracewood event, our members assisted in playing with the kids and taking care of them. At the Cy-Hopes Making Life Better for Kids event, members mentored children, led crafts, helped with homework, assisted with snack distribution, and more. In addition, we completed 5 things off the "Monthly Challenges" Instagram post. We volunteered at our local elementary school, Kirk. We also held a tutoring session after school, where we assisted kids struggling in certain topics. At our general meetings, we constantly discuss the district project and its importance. We constantly reposted district project information on our Instagram. Lastly, we made a flyer about the district project to spread awareness about it. We included the flyer in our monthly Newsletter as well.
